An alternative to Residence living at Carleton is off-campus housing. The City of Ottawa and surrounding municipalities provide a variety of different housing opportunities. Many students prefer the off-campus lifestyle – meals, entertaining, and other social activities can be arranged to your own tastes and schedule. Costs can be reduced by sharing accommodation, by seeking accommodation in a room in a private house rather than an apartment, and by careful budgeting.
The Off-Campus Housing Office is run through the Department of Housing. It is located in 261 Stormont (the main Housing Office) during the Academic year and during the summer months.
