David Dean is to be commended for his work with the NAC. It should also be noted that in addition to sharing his insights with the actors regarding historical themes, he also brings his knowledge and experience with the company back to the classroom. In the Winter semester of 2010, he charitably offered his time to my second year German history class to talk to them about the challenges of staging Bertolt Brecht. Dean performs history to a very wide audience indeed, to our collective benefit.
