The most comprehensive facility of its kind in central Ottawa, the Ice House at Carleton is located on Bronson Avenue. The $13 million state-of-the-art arena is the cornerstone of the Carleton Athletics Recreation Centre.
The main arena seats 500 spectators while the secondary rink accommodates 100 viewers. Operational year-round, the Icehouse features 2 NHL-sized ice surfaces with six dressing rooms per ice pad.
An innovative and eco-friendly complex
Designed by the Parkin Group, one of Canada’s foremost architectural firms, the Icehouse was built by McDonald Brothers Construction.
The Ice House was constructed in accordance with Natural Resources Canada’s Commercial Building Incentive Program, which provides federal funds for new construction projects that demonstrate significant reduction in energy use.
